The Contract

Hello!!!! :)

I've decided I would start blogging about my experience of building our first home!

My hubby and I have been looking at homes for about 1 1/2 years and we decided we wanted to build. We looked at a ton of model homes from various builders... D. R. Horton, Lennar, Ryan Homes, Eastwood... you name it, we saw it!!! We have found a couple that we liked, but nothing that "awed" us, there was always something missing. After looking at all of the homes and what they had to offer, we decided to go with True Homes. You get more BANG for your buck and they beat every builder with square footage! $61 sq ft!!!

We really loved the Winslow floor plan but.... it was too BIG! It was about 3,500 sq ft. We decided to go with the Riley floor plan instead. It's also HUGE (3,200 sq ft.) but its a tad bit cheaper than the Winslow and we love it!

We signed our purchase agreement on Sunday, December 28, 2014 and picked out our lot. It's a .331 acre lot.

What we have done so far......
1. Selected a neighborhood and home type.
2. Pre-approval
3. Completed our purchase agreement with our Sales Rep, Wesley Dozier. (he's awesome!)
4. Picked out our floor plan, options & upgrades, elevation..
5. Picked out our lot and put down our deposit.
6. Met with our loan officer.

What's next on our list........
1. Wait for loan approval.
2. Go to the design center to pick out our options, upgrades and colors etc...
3. Wait for the lot to be recorded.
4. Order the appraisal.
5. Pre-construction meeting.
6. Wait for the permit to start building....

This has truly been an experience thus far. All of these decisions are driving me NUTS but I know in the end, it'll be all worth it! I am a indecisive person unfortunately and I know this will be a loooooonnnggg journey!
